After settling in, you’ll have the chance to meet your fellow travelers and check into our boutique accommodation. In the evening, we’ll explore the vibrant street food scene of Yaowarad Road in Chinatown and enjoy a drink in a funky speakeasy bar.

Day 2: Temples & City Tour

On our first full day, our local city guide will lead us on a journey through the city. We’ll visit temples, immersing ourselves in the strong Buddhist influence of Thailand, while learning about the country’s history and customs. We’ll explore the bustling city and savor some of the world-renowned Thai street food. In the evening, we’ll come together for a welcome dinner overlooking the city before calling it a night, as an early morning awaits.

Day 3: Travel to Ko Tao

We’ll set off early in the morning, taking a shuttle to Chumphon, from where we’ll catch the 1 pm ferry to Koh Tao, one of Thailand’s most captivating islands. After our arrival, we’ll check in to our accommodations, enjoy some downtime, and reconvene for a beachside sunset and dinner.

Day 4: Island Exploring

Welcome to Koh Tao, a tropical paradise offering pristine beaches, crystal-clear snorkeling waters, and breathtaking viewpoints. Today, we embark on a day trip to the nearby Koh Nang Yuan island, where we’ll visit an awe-inspiring viewpoint and enjoy fantastic snorkeling conditions on the beach. We’ll conclude the day with a group dinner by the beach.

Day 5: Diving & Snorkeling

Today, the island adventures kick into high gear. You can choose to begin your Open-Water diving certification, enjoy fun dives if you’re already certified, or opt for a full-day snorkeling tour to explore the island’s best snorkeling spots. As the day winds down, we’ll head to a local beach for a sunset outing, followed by a group dinner and the option for some drinks.

Day 6: Diving & Island Tour

Divers will continue their diving course while non-divers can take part in a Muay Thai or Yoga Class, and explore the island’s beautiful beaches. For sunset, we’ll embark on a short hike to a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking two stunning bays. The day concludes with dinner at a nearby restaurant and free time in the evening.

Day 7: Farewell to Koh Tao

Today marks our last day on Koh Tao. Divers will wrap up their certification, and non-divers will have various morning activities to choose from, such as paddleboarding, snorkeling, or beach hopping. In the early afternoon, we’ll gather for lunch and then indulge in some relaxation with a massage at one of Thailand’s best massage parlors. You’ll have the opportunity to visit charming coffee shops or browse the local shops for clothing and souvenirs. In the evening, we board our night ferry, which will transport us close to our next destination.

Day 8: Khao-Sok National Park

Prepare to be mesmerized by the enchanting world of Khao Sok National Park. Following a short shuttle ride in the morning, we embark on an adventure in the national park, starting with a 1.5-hour boat ride through the nature reserve. Surrounded by pristine jungles and towering limestone cliffs emerging from the water, we’ll check into our floating bungalows. After lunch and some free time, we’ll set off on an evening wildlife safari, followed by dinner.

Day 9: Boat & Jungle Excursion

We begin the day with an early morning wildlife safari, followed by breakfast and serene morning views from our floating bungalows. We then head out on a boat for a jungle excursion, which includes a hike to a waterfall or a visit to a cave deep within the jungle. After a buffet lunch, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive back to the pier before taking a shuttle to Phang-Nga Bay. There, we check in to our luxury hotel, savor dinner together, and unwind in our infinity pool overlooking the bay.

Day 10: Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay welcomes us with one of the most stunning sunrise views in Thailand. We’ll watch the sunrise over the striking limestone pinnacles, casting a golden light over the meandering canals. Following this breathtaking sight, we’ll have breakfast at a cafe boasting top-notch views of the bay. After a relaxing morning at our luxury accommodations, we’ll enjoy lunch and then proceed to our final location: Phuket. Here, we’ll enjoy ourselves in a beautiful villa with a pool, savor some drinks, and order food for the evening.

Day 11: Phuket Food Tour

After an option to sleep in, we’ll travel to Phuket town and embark on a delectable food tour, featuring our all-time favorite noodles. To cope with the delightful food coma, we’ll have some free time at the villa before heading to a tropical beach for sunset. In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner and have the option for a night out.

Day 12: Phi Phi Islands Day Tour

Today is dedicated to exploring the islands. We’ll hop on a speedboat for a day to witness the renowned Maya Bay, featured in the movie “The Beach.” Following that, we’ll explore the Phi Phi Islands and the surrounding spots. Prepare for snorkeling, the chance to spot numerous fish, and maybe even some reef sharks if you’re fortunate. Today you will witness the magic of Thailand’s islands.

Day 13: Beaches & Big Buddha

In the morning, we’ll visit the famous, large white Buddha. Afterward, we’ll drive along Phuket’s scenic beach highway, visiting two viewpoints with amazing  views over the island beaches. To cool off after visiting the viewpoints, we’ll head to a beautiful beach and then make our way to an area offering the best sunset views in Phuket.

Day 14: Journey back Home

Our trip concludes at 11 am, and we’ll enjoy breakfast near our villa and savor our final moments on the island. In groups, we’ll take a shuttle to the airport with plenty of time before your flight. The balance of community, culture, and adventure is what makes these trips great. There’s a sense of comradery between the hosts and the members. While we explore the country, we get real with the travel and steer from the ‘touristy’ spots. This choice, makes the trip feel more authentic and helps me feel closer to the true culture of the country. While rest is essential for long trips and days under the sun, adventure was also optional on the trip which allows thrill-seekers to get their dose of adrenaline. Like me 🙂

I’ve traveled with On the Way in three different countries (Guatemala, Mexico, and Thailand). Each experience has been incredibly planned in ways that allowed our travel group to intimately connect with fellow travelers and local artisans and producers. Each trip has a different tone, some more arts focused, others more active, but each is intentionally crafted with a smart balance between activity, rest, and planned connection. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and they work to ensure your experience is seamless, your comfort is prioritized, and you are able to fully embrace local cultures and traditions. Each trip has changed me and left me feeling inspired and fulfilled. I’ve had so many firsts on these trips and trust On the Way to craft an exceptional travel experience.
